Despite the troublesome nature of the relationship, the couple had a loving relationship and were blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. Pablo Escobar even took his family on a trip to the United States and got a picture taken in front of the White House. But, what happened to the children of Pablo Escobar and Maria Victoria Henao after his death? Let’s find out

Manuela Escobar – Maria Victoria Henao’s Daughter

Manuela Escobar, daughter of the infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, faced a troubled childhood marked by bombings, assassinations, and constant police raids due to her father’s criminal activities. Her father’s death in 1993 brought relief from the dangers they lived with, but the Escobar name still carried a heavy burden, leading the family to retreat from the public eye.

In an attempt to maintain her privacy, the daughter of Pablo Escobar and Maria Victoria Henao avoids social media and regularly relocates and changes her identity. She has successfully remained out of the limelight despite media speculations and persistent efforts to locate her while avoiding the attention that comes with the Escobar name.

Specific details about Manuela’s personal life, including whether she is married, has a family or pursues a career, remains a mystery. The public’s fascination with the Escobar family has fueled attempts to uncover her identity. However, her intentional efforts to keep it private have been successful until now.

Sebastián Marroquín – Maria Victoria Henao’s Son

Sebastián Marroquín, originally known by his birth name Juan Pablo Escobar Henao, is the son of the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar and Maria Victoria Henao. Born on February 24, 1977, Marroquín’s life took a dramatic turn after his father’s death in 1993. Fleeing Colombia, he, along with his mother and sister Manuela, sought refuge first in Mozambique and then settled in Argentina, where they became citizens in exile.

To distance himself from his father’s dark legacy, Marroquín chose the name “Sebastián Marroquín” from a telephone book, adopting it as his new identity. Despite financially benefiting from Pablo Escobar’s name and likeness, Marroquín strives to disassociate himself from his father, the Medellín Cartel, and the illegal drug trade in Colombia.

Having earned a degree in architecture, Marroquín currently resides in Palermo Soho, Buenos Aires, with his wife and son. He works as an architect and has met some of his father’s victims, seeking reconciliation and an end to hatred.

Marroquín returned to Colombia twice, paying respects at his father’s grave and attending the premiere of the documentary “Sins of My Father” (2009), a project that followed him as he apologized to victims’ sons his father had ordered assassinated during his reign as a major drug lord.

In addition, Marroquín authored the book “Pablo Escobar: My Father Which Art In Heaven” (2014) under his birth name, Juan Pablo Escobar. His efforts to distance himself from his father’s criminal past and promote reconciliation highlight his commitment to shaping a different legacy.
